Winter Photo shoot

 

 

A few weeks back I had the honor and privilege to do a baby bump photo shoot for my friends Matt and Stacy. I'm not a photographer by any means. In fact, all I know about photography is what I have learned from other blogs and my camera instruction manual. So I know that there are a lot of things that I could have done different- better. But I'm just getting to know my new camera, and they were ok being my guinea pigs. We had a lot of fun and I can't way to do it again.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I think that the pictures turned out pretty nice (if I may say so myself), but I think the snow and the beautiful camp grounds are what made it work. However, as I said I am no photographer, so please, feel free to leave some commends, with suggestions, ideas and better ways and techniques.

To Go Lego Boxes DIY

This past year, my so Truett got into Legos. The problem is that he often loses the pieces everywhere we go.  So I made these little to go Lego boxes for him, for Christmas. I saw some other cases out there, all costing a lot more that I was willing to spend, so I got creative.

 

 

The Materials:

-Hot clue gun

-Scissors

-Lego base sheet

-plastic pencil case

 

 

 

 

 

How to:

 

This is by for the easiest, most simple DIY ever!

Measure the Lego base sheet to the inside and outside of the pencil case (which I go for $0.88, by the way) and cut accordingly, rounding the edges to avoid future cuts.

 

Next, simply clue them to the top and inside with the hot glue gun. If you only do the the top or only the bottom, the opposite side will look really bad since the case is see through. So you want to make sure you cover both sides. Though I suppose you could use a different kind of cover for the top- something with the child's name perhaps. I just did the same with both since the sheets were big enough to do so.

Our Christmas- Part 2

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  

 

 

After decorations went up, we were truly in the Christmas spirit, we saw lots of Santas and had a lot of Christmassy fun.
1. The first Santa of the season, at our officer's Christmas party. Peanut was scare to go see him, so only Truett got his picture take.
2&3. We went to Alum Creek to see Santa and the pretty decorations
4. We got to see the Alum Creek "Fantasy of lights". Is just incredible what they can do with Christmas lights.
5. The kids got to do their part and ring bells for the Salvation Army.
6. The kids got to see yet another Santa at the "Amber's Angels" fundraising breakfast.
7. He knew just how to keep warm (and how to look cute)
8. We had a very, and I mean VERY cold season.
9 & 10. I did some pregnancy picture from some friends of ours (I'll share them with you on a different post), and the kids got in a few of the shots.
11. They finished the season on the nice list, helping pass out toys to underprivileged kids in our community.

Our Christmas- Part 1

 

It has been such a long time since my last post, I am really sorry. But please keep in mind that I do blog with no obligation, so unfortunately, when live gets hectic, the blog, among other things, gets put on hold. But fear not- I promise to catch you up to speed on everything that has happened.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

After Thanksgiving, we finally got around to some Christmas spirit/decoration in our house. We took a trip to the local nursery and the kids picked out a tree and the hubby even took some time off from his busy "bell ringing campaign" to helps us pick out a tree. The tree looked so pretty, even with just the lights on (I actually debated leaving it as it was).

The thing I was the most excited about was the outdoor decorations. I was in love with my live wreath and the new giant ornaments on our front yard. I already have plans to out-do-it next year. I'm thinking lot of lights for next Christmas.

The kids had a great time decorating the tree and playing with the lights and as soon as the tree was up, all Truett wanted to know was when I was putting the gifts under it.
