Washi Tape & Twine

The other day, the kids and I stopped by the farmers market and Truett bought me some flowers. Sunflowers are my favorite flowers! When we got home I realized I did not have anything to put them on, so I decided to stick them in an empty frappuccino bottle.
The bottle by itself did not do justice to the flowers, so I decided to spruce it up at little.

So I added some washi tape, but it stiill looked like it was missing something.

So I added a little twine. I just love twine- it instandly adds a rustic charm to everything.

This is another one of my favorite twine vases. They were center pieces at a friends wedding and i got to keep this one. Mason jars and twine are just a match made in heave.

Little Bits- Labor Day

This long weekend was great. We had a rainy Saturday, which was a bummer since we were going to a soccer game that night, but we were blessed with beautiful Labor Day weather.

Crayon Makeover

Our home has an ever growing bucket of crayons. The kids get more crayons every time we go to a restaurant and it seems that every gift they get comes with a coloring book and a boxes of crayons. We keep all our crayons in a bucket, so at clean up time, all of the crayons, including the broken ones. I am not one to waist anything, so I don't really like trowing away the broken crayons. My solution- a makeover.

 

 

 

 

We sorted the crayons and pull out all of the broken ones. Preheat the oven at 275 degrees.

Then peeled the crayons, broke them down in smalled pieces and placed them on the silicone molds. In the oven for 15 to 20 minutes, an out of the oven to cool down. Lastly, pull them out of the molds and enjoy the new, perfect for little hands, crayon.

 

The kids thought it was the greatest thing to color with the crayons they made themselves.

This Was August

Summer has gone by so fast! We have been so busy, I feel like I blinked an eye and the season was gone and now is "Halloween costume planning time" already. Here is a little of what happened in August.

Our Peanut, Charisma, finally potty trained so she could get her American Girl doll.

There was lots of Vintage inspiration here and here. I promise to have more vintage crush posts this month.

I experimented with the "no poo" method and loved it.

We shared some precious moments, like Peanut making cookies and our tomato picking adventure.

 

 

We share little bits of our lives here, here and here.

There was also the easy and delicious bread pudding recipe.

We had an awesome guest post from My friend Matt Stacy .

And we got to share with you our first experiences with homeschooling.

 And a little, simple DIY for you guys.


We also up dated the blog a little bit, with some page tabs on the top and some new feature like a link to my instagram page.
