One For The Card

On Thanksgiving day, I dressed the kids and myself and realized that we matched. So I told my hubby he had to match us as well, so we could do pictures for our Christmas card.

Now, I'm no photographer, and I don't have any special lighting or anything. I just attached my camera to the tripod and set the timer on it and this is what we got.

It turns out, that having kids with a sense of humor makes it hard to get a good shot.

Not all pictures made into the card of course, but we had a lot of fun taking them. How do you choose your pictures for the your Christmas card?

The Autrumn of it All

This is my favorite time of the year! It's cold enough for people to start dressing (and smelling better), but is still not so cold that you have to keep inside. Plus there are pumpkins, and pumpkin spice flavor everything, candy corn, apple cider, changing colors and falling leaves.
Everything is so beautiful, so this afternoon, when we went for a family walk, I could not help but bring my camera, and once I saw the pictures I could not help but share them with you.

The streets are so quiet on a Sunday afternoons, the kids love walking around with their toys. So much beauty to see within walking distance of our home, we feel tully blessed.

The fog

One of my favorite things about living by the river is the fog. It's like a gentle blanket covering everything. and when it's lifting from the water, it's like a thousand souls rising to heaven. The kid like to say that we are driving through the clouds- which I guess, is technically not wrong.

Any one else enjoys a good fog? What is the best way to photograph it?

Pretty Marietta

We have been loving our new little town. Awesome sunsets and pretty views everywhere you look. I wanted to share the beauty with you lovelies. So here are a few of the things that I've been seeing.

I did want to put a little disclaimer here- I am not a photographer. I just snaps pictures whenever I see something pretty. Believe me, my photos do not do justice to the real view. But I wanted to share it anyway.

Flowers in the Alley

One of my favorite things about Marietta, Ohio are the alleys. Everywhere, all around town, there are little alleys. Even the parking lot of our office is only accessible through an alley.
I love walking around the alleys. I know this may sound silly, but I feel like I have an all access to the city's back stage or behind the scene.

Finding little flowers that grow through the concrete, to me, is like finding a secret treasurer. So I figured I would share some with you.

These little flowers have inspired me to look for beauty in unexpected places. I hope they can inspire you as well.

Winter Photo shoot

A few weeks back I had the honor and privilege to do a baby bump photo shoot for my friends Matt and Stacy. I'm not a photographer by any means. In fact, all I know about photography is what I have learned from other blogs and my camera instruction manual. So I know that there are a lot of things that I could have done different- better. But I'm just getting to know my new camera, and they were ok being my guinea pigs. We had a lot of fun and I can't way to do it again.

I think that the pictures turned out pretty nice (if I may say so myself), but I think the snow and the beautiful camp grounds are what made it work. However, as I said I am no photographer, so please, feel free to leave some commends, with suggestions, ideas and better ways and techniques.
