Toothless Truett

Being one of the last ones in his class to loose his first tooth, Truett was beyond excited when it finally happened.

After having a conversation about how we were wondering when would his loose tooth finally come out, I started to brush his teeth. I was very careful not to put to much pressure on the loose tooth, but even with the smallest of movement, his tooth just came out.

I am so thankful that it happened so naturally and not with us pulling it and traumatizing him. I have some very vivid memories of my fear of pain while my parents tied a string to my tooth and my a door handle. The ordeal would take what felt like forever, since every time they tried closing the door, I would jump forward for fear of it hurting. At the end, I would always be amazed at how it actually didn't hurt, but by then I was already traumatized by the experience. So needless to say, that I was overjoyed when nature took its course and his tooth simply "fell out" with out any prompting from me.

One For The Card

On Thanksgiving day, I dressed the kids and myself and realized that we matched. So I told my hubby he had to match us as well, so we could do pictures for our Christmas card.

Now, I'm no photographer, and I don't have any special lighting or anything. I just attached my camera to the tripod and set the timer on it and this is what we got.

It turns out, that having kids with a sense of humor makes it hard to get a good shot.

Not all pictures made into the card of course, but we had a lot of fun taking them. How do you choose your pictures for the your Christmas card?

Our New Home- Peanut's Room

We really love our new home, and Peanut really loves her new room. It is bigger and brighter than her old room, but everything is still very girly and very pink.

She has own private play area under her bed. We use a quilt instead of a rug under her bed. I think that makes it way more cozy and comfy.

Because her bed is too high for a night stand, I made her a little pocket/bag out of duck tape. She keeps her flash light, some tissues and a couple little books in there.

She is at the wonderful age of make believe, and its wonderful to watch her pretend to cook and have her serve us with  pretend food. She uses books as trays and calls us "Melady" and "Mysir". It is just too cute.

Her Favorite thing is the doll house she got from my mom years ago. I love how imaginative she is.

She got a Poster book for Christmas and has since developed a new obsession.

I'm not sure how well will this room grow with her, or how long will she enjoy the girly and princessy decor, but for now she seems to love it. Her bed and doll house are what make it hers and special to her.

What do you do to make your kids bedroom special?

The Autrumn of it All

This is my favorite time of the year! It's cold enough for people to start dressing (and smelling better), but is still not so cold that you have to keep inside. Plus there are pumpkins, and pumpkin spice flavor everything, candy corn, apple cider, changing colors and falling leaves.
Everything is so beautiful, so this afternoon, when we went for a family walk, I could not help but bring my camera, and once I saw the pictures I could not help but share them with you.

The streets are so quiet on a Sunday afternoons, the kids love walking around with their toys. So much beauty to see within walking distance of our home, we feel tully blessed.

What makes Autumn specila for you?

Our New Home- Family Room

As I mentioned before (here), we have moved to a new home. And as I promised (here), I will be posting some pictures of our new home as we get settled in.

I did want to mention, that almost all of the furniture belongs to the house. Because the Salvation Army moves it's officers so much, and sometimes so far, the houses come already furnished. So about 98% of this room was furnished by someone else. Most likely "someones" actually. Different people, at different times, purchased different things.

I know that the people we followed purchased the couch set and had new carped put in. And since they were only here for two years, I know it is pretty new. Everything thing else in the house, other than our personal stuff, I have no idea when it was purchased or by whom.

Not sure how clear it is on the picture, but the kids have their own side of the room. So they can play while we relax.

The chalk table had become the Lego table for a few weeks, but I moves all of Truett's Legos to his room, where his sister could not destroy his creations. Now it doubles as play/reading table. (Click here to see how to chalkarize a table)

The train table almost went in the yard sale before we moved. We knew that the new house was smaller, so we were afraid we would find a place for it. But the kiddos were not ready to let go, so we made room for it on their side of the room.

Also on their side of the room is Hubby's desk. It is a corner desk, so I could not put it anywhere else.

Everything in this picture belongs to us, personally. The antique children's desk was a present from my brother. The cube shelves from Target are my favorite way to organize their toys. And the easel from IKEA is one of Charisma's favorite things.

The desk is a work station for the kids. They use it for school work and crafts. I got the green pails from a clearance pin at Michaels and I used some scrapbook king stickers to decorate/label them.

The TV is sitting on top of a serving table. When we got here the entertainment center, which is now against the far wall between two bookshelves, was too small for our TV. So we had to improvise. The entertainment center, which, thank goodness has doors, now holds our ridiculously large board game collection.

You may have notice the lack of wall decorations. That's because we haven't put a single nail to the wall. When we first moved in, my mom was clever enough to reuse whatever nails were still on the wall. So she handed picture on the nails that were left in the wall by the previous people. I intend to rearrange that soon.

I'm still not happy with this room (the whole house to be honest) I plan on painting the room and decorating it somehow. I need something for the coffee table and a way to make the improvised TV rack look more acceptable. But Since I can't change the furniture I'm really stuck for ideas.

So please, roll in the suggestions, ideas and inspirations in your comments. I really need them.
