Friday Night Downtown

Every first Friday of the month, our downtown has a special event called... wait for it... "First Friday". I know how it sounds, but don't let the lack of originality in the name fool you. It is actually really nice.

I love antique stores and there are 3 big ones at our downtown.

By the end of the night someone was really tired.

Featured Blog- Color Me Katie

I have realized that having a blog of my own, has made me more of a blog reader that ever. And there are some great ones out there, so I'll try to share some of my favorite ones with you from time to time.
My absolute favorite blog is Color Me Katie.

 

She is so creative and her posts always bring a smile to my face when I'm feeling down.

She also the only person alive that makes me miss living in New York City.

And her cat Moo is pretty awesome even if, like me, you are not a cat person.

Unfortunately, she has not posted anything in a couple of months. But if you want a feel good blog to look at, check out some of her old posts.

And maybe, if a lot of us ask her nicely, she will post again soon :)

Oh, The Waiting Game

Have you ever noticed how waiting days take longer to go by than normal days? It doesn't matter if you're waiting for something good to come or something bad to go, it always feels like an eternity.
On Thursday I ordered the cutest dress from zulily.com

 

I just love online shopping, which is why I never do it. My husband is always reminding me that its not worth it when you add shipping and handling, and he was right (I'm only saying that because I know he doesn't read my blog all the time). I had a $25 gift card I got for Valentine's Day and saw this cute dress for $14.99 and I got really exited. What a deal! But when I went to check out my total was $22.35. Needless to say that I was not as exited anymore. In real life, meaning at the store, I would never spend that much on a dress, but I really liked this one and had a gift card, so I went ahead and ordered it.
I just wish I was a smarter online shopper. So that I could do it more often. Any tips for me?
So now, here I am, playing the waiting game. Spring is finally starting to fell like spring and not winter, and a new dress is in order. So please, oh please, pretty dress, hurry up and get here.

A Tour of Our Home- Charisma's Room

Once a month I'll give you a little tour of our home, one room at the time.
We are starting with Peanut's room. Though it will probably get a bit of a make over soon- she is almost ready for a big girl bed.

Her favorite thing in her room is the doll house. It was a birthday gift from Grandma and Papa. The little people that came with the house are kind of ugly and cheap looking, so she filled the house with all of her Disney princesses.

Behind her door is her closet and in front of it are the humidifier one of her 3 Minnie pillow pets (she got them from different people at Christmas) and her shopping card stuffed with her purses. She loves to take a purse, a baby doll and pretend that she is going to the park. I wonder if that's her way to ask me to take her to the park more often.

She loves her books and Tea sets.

We love our wall decor

Her vanity table gets used as just that, a place for her to be vain. But I figure it can only help her self steam in the future.

 

She has her own little play room in the corner of her room. Note that the cheap laundry basket works just as well as some expensive toy box, and I'm never afraid of fingers getting pinched on the lid.

Here she comes to kick me out of her room.
