School Open House

The kiddos had their first school open house. We got to meet the teachers, learn about their routine every day and get a tour of the class and school given by the kids themselves. I also really enjoyed getting to meet the other parents. I always appreciate adult conversation.

The kids had so much fun showing us around and getting pictures with their teachers. And as you can tell by Truett's dirty shirt, he also really enjoyed the snacks. Does your school have open houses? What is your favorite part about them?

A Clean Car

I have been cleaning house and cleaning van. My van is usually like a big purse for me- it has everything I need inside, but I can never find anything when I need it.So I decided to put an end to the madness and organize it. And I'm kind of proud of how functional it turned out.

The trunk has two big bags. The first one has emergency things, such as blankets, towels, extra outfits for the kids and neck pillows in case the kids get tired on trips. The other bag has umbrellas and everything for an instant picnic. There is a picnic blanket, some toys, bubbles and bug spray.  Next to the bags is the stroller that I still use when we go to the zoo, the fair or anyplace that the kids will want to be carried after a while. My husband thinks the kids are too big for the stroller, and they probably are. But I think they are too big for me to carry them, so the stroller stays.

I used a cereal container as a trashcan. That way nothing falls out on the floor while I drive, and my car never smells like garbage.

I found these cute car-coasters a while back, but never used them until now. They look adorable and prevent ring stains on the bottom of the cup holders.

The storage between the sits has some more emergency stuff. It has a first aid kit, hand sanitize, extra trash bags, paper towels, pens, the kids music CDs and maps of the county and the town. After I took the picture, I also added a small container of Clorox wipes and some "Wet Ones".

How do you keep your car clean?

Marietta Marketplace

We are loving living in Marietta. There are fun things to do all the time around here, like the "Marietta Market Place" which happens annually. It is the perfect Saturday morning thing to do  during the Fall.

There are lots of antiques, apple cider and pumpkins. It feels just like Autumn should.

There were lots of vendors selling crafts and fair trade things. And Peanut got herself this adorable doll that she named "Zomprincess".

The market place happens in front of the Armory in town. And Truett never goes by the Armory without getting his picture taken with the canon. It was a chilly but great day. Autumn is by far my favorite season, so this is my kind of event. What is your favorite season?

Our New Home- Peanut's Room

We really love our new home, and Peanut really loves her new room. It is bigger and brighter than her old room, but everything is still very girly and very pink.

She has own private play area under her bed. We use a quilt instead of a rug under her bed. I think that makes it way more cozy and comfy.

Because her bed is too high for a night stand, I made her a little pocket/bag out of duck tape. She keeps her flash light, some tissues and a couple little books in there.

She is at the wonderful age of make believe, and its wonderful to watch her pretend to cook and have her serve us with  pretend food. She uses books as trays and calls us "Melady" and "Mysir". It is just too cute.

Her Favorite thing is the doll house she got from my mom years ago. I love how imaginative she is.

She got a Poster book for Christmas and has since developed a new obsession.

I'm not sure how well will this room grow with her, or how long will she enjoy the girly and princessy decor, but for now she seems to love it. Her bed and doll house are what make it hers and special to her.

What do you do to make your kids bedroom special?

A Post Marathon

So I have been in hiatus for a while it seems. Since our move, life has been wonderful. So wonderful in fact, that I was enjoying it too much to post about it, or to remember to pick up the camera at lot of times.

I am so very sorry to neglect you, my beautiful readers. And to make up for it, I will be doing a post marathon. Basically a catch up to everything that has happened since my last post. They may not be in the best of chronological order. But close to it.

You will see that a lot of what has happened, has taking place in our own town. No big trips anywhere for the most part, just us loving what we have right where we are.

Here are some pretty flowers, just because.

Hope you enjoy this little overdose of our lives.
